Brennan’s of Houston (no affiliation with Brennan’s of New Orleans) has a rich history rooted in the 1967 opening as a sister restaurant to the world-famous Commander’s Palace in New Orleans. Incorporating the freshest local ingredients, and offering exceptional dining a la Texas Creole, including many original creations among our award-winning cuisine. From pan to plate to palate, their brigade of culinary professionals directs its overwhelming passion for food and hospitality at creating great memories for every guest every time.

Brennan's of Houston

I recently visited Brennan’s of Houston for a private tasting of their 777 menu as well as some new dishes for summer. The 777 menu is available at the Courtyard Bar and offers 7 appetizers, 7 cocktails and 7 wines for $7 each. Their new summer menu was utterly mind blowing.  At Brennan’s the dishes are passionately prepared and meticulously plated each day for lunch and dinner. With menu selections priced at the mid-level of Houston’s high-end restaurants, Brennan’s is nestled on the quaint corner of 3300 Smith Street at Stuart in vibrant Midtown.

This menu consists of some of the freshest seafood and most delicious cocktails in the city.

Blue Crab Raviote, Zatarain’s Boiled Shrimp, Creole Lobster on a Stick, West Indies Crab Claws, Smoked Catfish Dip, and Bluepoint Oysters on the half shell

Diners enjoyed a decadent array of seafood on the rocks! Blue Crab Raviote, Zatarain’s Boiled Shrimp, Creole Lobster on a Stick, West Indies Crab Claws, Smoked Catfish Dip, and Bluepoint Oysters on the half shell. I am a huge fan of oysters and love to top my with horseradish, lemon juice and cocktail sauce. Then I toss it back like a champ!

“Drink Daddy Rick” was on hand serving up delicious summer sips. The hibiscus tea cocktail is a blend of vodka, hibiscus tea, and pineapple juice. Perfect for the sweltering summer heat, here in the city. If you like rye whiskey then you’ll love their Barrel-Aged Sazerac. It’s simple and classic with a mix of rye, bitters, simple syrup, and absinthe, garnished with a lemon twill.

Our night ended with awesome goody bags that contained Brennan’s of Houston’s famous pralines! You can’t visit with out trying them!
